  Mexican Wolf Adaptive Management Work Group to conduct public meeting

PINETOP, Ariz. -- The Mexican Wolf Adaptive Management Work Group will conduct its next public meeting in Springerville, AZ, on Friday, Oct. 15. The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Rode Inn, located at 242 E. Main St., beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Public meetings hosted by the management group are part of an ongoing process and commitment by the group to keep the public informed on management actions and decisions pertaining to the Mexican wolf reintroduction project.

Agenda items for the meeting include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Director’s response regarding requests for written documentation of wolf control decisions and the status of the project’s Interagency Memorandum of Understanding. The 2004 and 2005 Annual Work Plans and budgets, updates on wolf mortalities, and the Animal Husbandry/Depredation Study will also be discussed.

Agenda items may be moved, added or deleted, and times changed as necessary to make the most effective and efficient use of time by those present.

Parties interested in receiving the Mexican wolf project’s monthly status report can subscribe to receive the report via e-mail at no cost by logging onto the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s website at azgfd.com and filling out the appropriate information on the ONLINE SERVICES page.
