The Arizona Game and Fish Department is committed to providing high-quality professional development opportunities for educators. There are three basic types of training we offer: natural history workshops, conference presentations and exhibits, and school or district inservices. Unless they are aligned with university credit or conference registration, all of our professional development opportunities are free.
Crayfish Eradication Teacher Workshops
Join the Arizona Game and Fish Department as we work to restore the vital riparian ecosystems of the state. These FREE, and highly popular, one-day workshops will learn about the tool and techniques that biologists use to remove the highly invasive crayfish from ecosystems.
There is currently one workshop scheduled:
- Tucson area, May 10, 2008

Conferences
We try to remain on the cutting edge of education. As a result, we are regular attendees and presenters at various conferences throughout the state and country. Check us out at these upcoming events:
Inservices
We regularly receive requests to present a workshop to groups of teachers. Whether it is a college class for preservice teachers or a district wide inservice, our workshops are hands-on and full of resources that you can take back to your classroom immediately. Workshops are offered in a variety of formats, can last from 1 to 16 hours, and cover single, multiple, or all grade levels. In addition, you can select a partially customized workshops centered around a variety of topics, including ecology and environmental science content, inquiry, and literacy. We do require a minimum of ten teachers. To schedule your free teacher workshop, contact Eric Proctor at eproctor@azgfd.gov or 623-236-7243.
Participant Login
NEW Recently, we began efforts to reduce our waste associated with workshops. Rather than printing out hundreds of copies of materials, we have put all the relevant workshop documents onto the web. If you have attended a worskhop or presentation sponsored by the AZ Game and Fish Department's Environmental Education section since October 2007, you should have received login information. This login will allow you access to the secure page through the current school year. You can download any of the resources that are of interest.
