This listing is not inclusive, but includes the major positions dealing
with wildlife management. Other positions in the Department which are not
listed may include those that are clerical or administrative in nature,
such as clerks, typists, accounting clerks, etc. |

| Game & Fish Assistant I and II: |
| Performs
a variety of work tasks in wildlife, fish
management and research programs. May be
required to walk or travel over rough terrain
and camp overnight. |

| Wildlife Technician: |
Duties generally involve
performing a variety of technical and entry
level professional wildlife work in game
and fish management and research programs.
Gathers information such as sex and age counts
for various species of game and fish; assists
in the compilation and tabulation of basic
field data and prepares analyzed data for
publication and/or presentation. Work also
involves long hours of concentration on detail,
walking or traveling through rough terrain
and overnight camping.
I - Class Code 36104 Grade 16:
Two years of field experience equivalent to a Wildlife Assistant II; OR
a Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field from
an accredited college or university.
Successful completion of a medical/physical evaluation is required. |

| Wildlife Specialist
I, II, and III: |
Plans, organizes,
conducts and coordinates professional wildlife
research, management or environmental studies
in the field or laboratory; develops recommendations
and reports of wildlife surveys, habitat
evaluations, environmental inventories, estimates
and special studies. Work involves long hours
of concentration on detail, walking or traveling
over rough terrain and overnight camping.
I - Class Code 36105 Grade 17:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field.
II - Class Code 36106 Grade 19:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field from
an accredited college or university and two years of professional experience
in wildlife research or wildlife management. A graduate degree in a wildlife
science or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the required
experience.
III - Class Code 36107 Grade 20:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field from
an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience
in wildlife research or wildlife management. A graduate degree in a wildlife
science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
may substitute for one year of the required experience. |

| Wildlife Manager I,
II, and III: |
Performs a variety of
technical wildlife management field activities
including population surveys, research programs,
monitoring wildlife movement, patrolling
assigned district and enforcing game, fish
and watercraft laws.
I - Class Code 36112 Grade 17:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field.
II - Class Code 36113 Grade 19:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field and
two years of professional experience in wildlife research or wildlife management;
OR one year as a Wildlife Manager I in Arizona State service.
III - Class Code 36116 Grade 20:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field and
three years of professional experience in wildlife research or wildlife
management which included wildlife law enforcement work; OR two years experience
as a Wildlife Manager II in Arizona State service.
Required: AZ Post Certification as a state peace officer is required for
the wildlife manager positions. |

| Wildlife Habitat Construction
Technician II: |
Performs a wide variety
of construction tasks requiring basic skills
in the use of tools and equipment; assists
in repairs, maintenance and construction
of wildlife habitat structures; assembles
materials; loads and unloads trucks; works
as a member of a construction crew. Work
involves heavy lifting, walking over rugged
terrain, cooking, eating and sleeping outdoors
for extended periods in wilderness areas.
II - Class Code 34652 Grade 17:
Two years of work experience in outdoor construction or maintenance work
involving the operation of motorized and automotive construction equipment;
OR six months work experience as a Wildlife Habitat Construction Technician
I in Arizona State service.
Position requires a current commercial driver's license issued by
the state of Arizona and successful completion of a medical/physical evaluation. |

| Fish Culturist I and
II: |
Performs a variety of
technical and professional duties in fish
culture and hatchery production; conducts
tests and writes reports; assists in transporting
and distributing fish. May require living
and working at an isolated fish hatchery
site.
I - Class Code 36173 Grade 16:
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field.
II - Class Code 36174 Grade 18:
Two years of experience equivalent to a Fish Culturist I. A Bachelor's
degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field may substitute
for one year of the required experience.
Both positions require a current commercial driver's license issued by
the state of Arizona and successful completion of a medical/physical evaluation. |

| Fish Hatchery Manager I: |
Assists in fish hatchery
operation and production problem investigations.
Performs a variety of professional and technical
duties; assists in supervision and management
of an integrated hatchery complex. Conditions
may require living and working at an isolated
fish hatchery site.
Class Code 36175 Grade 20
Bachelor's degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field from
an accredited college or university and three years of experience equivalent
to a Fish Culturist II; OR a Bachelor’s degree in a wildlife science
or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and
three years of fish management experience; OR four years of experience
equivalent to a Fish Culturist II.
Both positions require a current commercial driver's license issued by
the state of Arizona and successful completion of a medical/physical evaluation. |
