Deadline to enter by mail is July 7 and online sales end July 9
PHOENIX — The deadline to enter the 12th annual Arizona Big Game Super Raffle is less than three weeks away. The raffle not only gives hunters the chance to win one of 10 Big Game Special Tags, but it also raises money for wildlife conservation efforts.
Each year the Arizona Game and Fish Commission sets aside one tag for each of the 10 big game species — bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, pronghorn antelope, bison, turkey, black bear, javelina and mountain lion — for the Arizona Big Game Super Raffle. Tickets range from $5 to $25 depending on the species.
Raffle tickets can be ordered online, or a ticket order form that can be printed out and mailed in is available on the website. All mail order entries must be received by July 7, and online sales end July 9 at 10 p.m. There is no limit on how many tickets can be purchased.
A special incentive drawing for a 2017 Polaris 570 Sportsmen ATV will be held on July 4. For every order made online through June 30, you will be entered for one chance to win this fantastic special prize valued at $6,700! More information about the special drawing for the quad is available at www.arizonabiggamesuperraffle.com.
Conducted by a nonprofit entity, a volunteer board of directors made up of representatives from sponsoring organizations oversees the operation of the raffle. A list of the sponsoring organizations can be found here.
The drawing will take place at 6 p.m. on July 20 at the Arizona Game and Fish Department headquarters at 5000 W. Carefree Highway in the Quail Room. It also will be streamed online at https://livestream.com/azgameandfish/abgsr. Winners do not need to be present to win; they will be contacted by phone and mail.
$633,750 were raised in 2016 by the Arizona Big Game Super Raffle, and every dollar raised for each species through the raffle is returned to the department and managed by the Arizona Habitat Partnership Committee for that particular species. With input from local habitat partners across the state and sponsoring organizations involved in the fundraising, project priorities are determined that will provide the most benefit to each species.
