Seasonal schedule wraps up this month

PHOENIX — Attention, women shooters: If you’re new to the shotgun shooting sports, or just need a refresher, you’re invited to attend the Desert Roses women’s shotgun program at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.

There’s no better way for women 9 and older to learn about firearm safety and receive hands-on instruction shooting trap, skeet and sporting clays. For $10, a shooter can sign up for the final three sessions of the season – a single session at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 6, and a double session at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 20.

The fee includes use of a loaner shotgun, ammunition, eye and ear protection, targets and coaching by certified instructors.
Desert Roses meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month from October through April. This is a seasonal program; sessions are not offered during the summer months.
