Fisheries Management Plan: Verde River Watershed
From its headwaters near Paulden in central rural Arizona, the Verde River serves as a lifeline for communities and wildlife as it winds 193 miles through public and private lands, meeting up with the Salt River near Phoenix. The Verde River provides essential habitat to a variety of aquatic species, including sport and native fish and rare species of reptiles and amphibians.
Explore the Verde Watershed Interactive Map to learn more about how the Arizona Game and Fish Department will manage waters within the watershed to balance public demand for recreational fishing with native aquatic species conservation and recovery. This map will be updated as new information becomes available.
