Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood

675 Dead Horse Ranch Road. From I-17, go west on Hwy 260 toward Cottonwood to Main Street (Hwy 89A) and turn left. Turn right from Main Street onto North 10th Street. Park entrance will be in ¾ mile, toward the end of the road.
The 423-acre park has three lagoons available for fishing. There are restrooms, visitor center, ramadas, camping, RV sites, cabins, hiking and biking trails, picnic areas and a boat launch. Only canoes and small boats without motors are allowed. The park also offers several access points to the Verde River for additional fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, channel catfish, sunfish, crappie, and crayfish. Stocked with rainbow trout from mid-November through the end of March. Stocked with channel catfish in early June and late September.Fees:

Mingus Lake, Prescott National Forest
Between Prescott Valley and Jerome on Highway 89A, turn on Forest Road 104. Follow dirt road for about two miles. Watch for the lake on your right.
There is one picnic table, a ramada, vault toilet, and garbage service. There is no drinking water at this location, so prepare accordingly. Although the access gate is locked after the first snow and does not reopen until spring, walk-in access is still permitted. Disperse camping, swimming, and motorized boats are not allowed. There is a $5/ day use fee.

Tuzigoot Access Point, Town of Clarkdale

15 E. Tuzigoot Road. From Cottonwood, travel north on Hwy 89A, then Main Street, towards Clarkdale. Turn right onto Tuzigoot Road. Go across Verde River bridge and in about a quarter mile take the first turn right onto a dirt road. Follow the road about 300 yards to the river.
This is a day use only area with hiking trails and a primitive canoe/ kayak launch located approximately 500 feet down river from the Tuzigoot Bridge. Rainbow trout are stocked at the site from mid-November through the end of March.

Bignotti Access Point, Prescott National Forest
Between Cottonwood and Camp Verde, take Hwy 260 to Forest Road 147 (toward Thousand Trails RV Park). Left on 147A (watch for sign). Narrow dirt road crosses a flat area then winds down to the river. (Approximately 10-15 minutes off of paved road.) Accessible to all vehicles during dry weather. Not recommended when wet.
Restrooms, picnic tables and grills. Rainbow trout are stocked at the site from mid-November through the end of March.

White Bridge Access Point, Prescott National Forest
Located in Camp Verde on the corner of Hwy 260 and Quarterhorse Lane, across the highway from the Verde Ranger Station. (From I-17, east on Hwy 260, first right after the bridge crossing the Verde River.)
Restrooms, picnic tables and grills.

Beasley Flat Access Point, Prescott National Forest
From I-17 in Camp Verde, go west on Hwy 260 (towards Payson). Turn right on Salt Mine Road (County Road 163; it’s the first right after Main Street, shortly before the bridge over the Verde River). Follow the paved road for approximately 9 ½ miles to where it ends at a “T.” Turn left (this is FR 334) and follow the gravel road ½ mile to Beasley Flat.
Restrooms, picnic tables, ramadas, grills, canoe/kayak launch, and hiking trail.

River Front Park Access Point, City of Cottonwood

Black Bridge Access Point, Town of Camp Verde
Montezuma Castle Highway at the Black Bridge. From Main Street (aka Finney Flat Road), turn north at the Circle K convenience store onto Montezuma Castle Highway. Drive north about a half mile and turn right into Rezzonico Family Park (next to the Camp Verde Public Library).
Restrooms and picnic tables.

Beaver Creek, Coconino National Forest

I-17 to the Sedona turn-off at Exit 298 (AZ Highway 179). Leave the freeway here and drive 2 miles east on Forest Road 618 to the day use area. FR 618 is gravel and suitable for sedans in most weather.
Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, sunfish, channel catfish, crayfish, and crappie. Rainbow Trout stocked in spring and fall.

West Clear Creek – Bull Pen, Coconino National Forest

From I-17 in Camp Verde, take Exit 287 and turn east onto Hwy 260. Travel a little over 9 miles on Hwy 260 to Forest Road 618. Turn left (north) onto Forest Road 618. Drive north about 2 miles to Forest Road 215. Turn right (east) onto FR 215 and drive about 3 miles to the Bullpen Ranch trailhead.
Restrooms and hiking trails.
