Family fishing fun at Red Mountain Lake on Feb. 1

Come out and enjoy some free fishing and family fun Saturday, Feb. 1, at Red Mountain Lake, 7745 E. Brown Road, in Mesa.
Sponsored by the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD), Mesa Councilman David Luna, HECHO, and Mesa Parks and Recreation, the event offers free fishing (no license required) for all ages from 8 a.m. to noon. All participants must sign in at the AZGFD booth, located at the Mallard Ramada.
AZGFD’s Sport Fishing Education Program staff and volunteer instructors will be on hand to offer lessons and tips. Bait and loaner equipment will be available. Those who enjoy the event are encouraged to purchase an annual fishing license. A resident license is $37, and a youth license (ages 10 to 17) is only $5. Both licenses are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
