OHV club partners with Arizona Game and Fish on cleanup event

Posted March 10, 2017

A group of 70 volunteers from the Recycles ATV Club, an off highway vehicle (OHV) club from Florence, partnered with the Arizona Game and Fish Department last month to pick up trash along a popular OHV route leading to Box Canyon.

The group rode their OHVs to the cleanup staging site, grabbed their supplies, and in less than three hours had filled two large trailers with target shooting debris, dumped items and other trash.

The Recycles ATV Club, comprised primarily of self-described “snow birds,” has been partnering with the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s “Adopt A Ranch” Program for five years to clean up this specific portion of BLM land, which is part of a large cattle grazing allotment. A representative of the group said, “We love riding in this area and are glad to come out for this cleanup event because land stewardship is crucial to maintaining recreational access.”

Many thanks to all the volunteers who came out to take care of our public lands.
