PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, to interview seven candidates for the governor’s appointment to fill a 2026 vacancy on the Arizona Game and Fish Commission.
The meeting will be held at the Game and Fish Department headquarters, Quail Room, 5000 W. Carefree Highway in Phoenix. The public is invited to attend (please enter through the front entrance of the headquarters building). Those persons wishing to speak to the board during the Call to the Public portion of the agenda should complete a speaker’s card and present it to the host. Unless prior approval has been granted by the chairperson, comments will be limited to no more than three minutes.
The following candidates will be interviewed: Julie Chevrefils, Patrick Cooley, Christine Eade, Robert (Jeff) Herr, Jessica Manuell, David Mattausch, and Kevin Sargent. After the interviews on Nov. 6, the board will select anywhere between two and five candidates to forward to Gov. Katie Hobbs for consideration for the appointment.

Per Arizona Revised Statute 17-202, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission Appointment Recommendation Board shall assist the governor by interviewing, evaluating and recommending candidates for appointment to the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. The board shall recommend at least two, but no more than five, candidates to the governor. The governor must select and appoint a commissioner from the list submitted by the board.
