Fish250 is part of the national celebration marking 250 years since the founding of the United States. To mark the occasion, we encourage everyone to get outside, explore our waters, and connect with the landscapes that shape our state. Now through August, sign up to participate in Fish250 and be eligible to receive a Fish250 sticker pack. Through fishing and outdoor recreation, Fish250 helps celebrate Arizona’s heritage as part of the work led by the Arizona America250 Commission.

Ready to Fish250? Find the license that best meets your needs. Arizona offers general, youth and short-term fishing licenses. Every license you purchase contributes directly to our on-the-ground conservation efforts.
A valid Arizona fishing license is required for Arizona resident and non-resident anglers 10 years of age or older fishing any public accessible water in Arizona. Youth under the age of 10 and blind residents do not need to purchase a state fishing license to fish in Arizona.

New to Fishing or Looking For a Place to Start?
The Arizona Game and Fish Department offers helpful videos, tips, and tools to help you plan your next fishing trip:
1. Not sure where to start? Explore upcoming FishAZ Network events and classes, and register for instructional and educational events, hands-on beginner fishing events, and other fishing based on your skill level and interest.
2. Before fishing, review the latest fishing regulations, which contains all the information you need to legally fish in Arizona. It is the angler’s responsibility to know what regulations apply to the body of water they are fishing.
3. With more than 50 waters across 23 Arizona communities, take time to explore the community waters near you. Plenty of ready-to-catch fish are stocked year-round to ensure anglers have a good chance of catching fish.
4. Check out the FishAZ Facebook group, your home to everything fishing in Arizona.
5. While participating in Fish250, why not try to complete a fishing challenge? Fishing challenges provide opportunities to pursue and catch your “big fish” and have it posted on the Department’s website. Find your challenge, see how to enter, and explore the official rules.
