Riding Gear
ATV Safety Institute
The ATV Safety Institute’s (ASI) primary goal is to promote the safe and responsible use of ATVs, thereby reducing accidents and injuries that may result from improper ATV operation by the rider. ASI developed a hands-on training course that introduces basic techniques for riding an all-terrain vehicle. The course also covers protective gear, local laws, finding places to ride, and environmental concerns.
ASI also offers a safety training E-Course.
Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association
The Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) promotes the safe and responsible use of recreational off-highway vehicles (ROV).
ROVs are sometimes referred to as a side-by-side or utility terrain vehicle (UTV). ROHVA has developed two options for ROV safety, an E-Course and a Basic DriverCourse.
Motorcycle Safety Foundation
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), an internationally recognized developer of comprehensive, research-based curricula, developed DirtBike School (DBS), which is a fun, one-day, hands-on training session available to anyone 6 years old or above that teaches basic riding skills and responsible riding practices, including risk management and environmental awareness.
Other OHV Safety Education Training Opportunities
Arizona State Association of Four-Wheel Drive Clubs sponsor safety clinics that teach the basics of 4WD.
United Four-Wheel Drive Association provides a 4WD safety and awareness program.
