Ben Avery Shooting Facility Fees

Founded in 1957, the Ben Avery Shooting Facility (BASF), formerly the Black Canyon Shooting Range, is one of the largest publicly operated shooting facilities in the country.
Our world-class shooting range is a City of Phoenix Point of Pride. It has received a Five Star rating from the National Association of Shooting Ranges. This means that it is the best of the best at providing a quality recreation experience and is the first government facility to receive this designation.

rifle & pistol range fees

Main Range for Rifle & Pistol
$7 per adult 18+ for 1.5 hours
Children 5-17 shoot free with a paying adult
Limit of 4 shooters, including children, per table
You can shoot pistol, rifle and shotgun on this range
Target holders are in yards located at 5, 10, 15, 25, 50 & 100
Certain tables have an additional target holder at 200 yards

These ranges are rifle only ranges (pistols and shotguns are prohibited on the following ranges):
300 yard range
$10 per adult for 1.45 hours, Sat & Sun only
Target holders are at 100, 200 & 300 Yards
Children 5-17 shoot free with a paying adult
Limit of 4 shooters, including children, per table

Frank DeSomma Memorial Range
This is a rifle only range
$12 per adult for 1.5 hours
Children 5-17 shoot free with a paying adult
Limit of 4 shooters, including children, per table

Clay target center fees

Trap and Skeet
$7 for 25 clays

Wobble Trap, 5-Stand and International Skeet
$7.50 for 25 clays

Sporting Clays
$10 for 25 clays
$20 for 50 clays
$35 for 100 clays

Bunker Trap
$8 for 25 clays

Ammunition
We offer 12, 20, 28 and .410 gauge ammunition, price depends on gauge and specialty.

Ear Protection
50 cents

Eye Protection – $2.50

Gun Buggy Rental – $5

Discount/ Gold Card
Buy your own card for $15 and load it with a minimum of $100 (1st time purchase = $115) and get a discounted rate of trap, skeet, and sporting clay targets.

Rental Guns
$15 per day for 20 gauge or 12 gauge semi-auto Benellis or Berettas (only ammunition purchased at the Clay Target Center may be used in rental shotguns).

Clay Target Center camping

All confirmed camping requests will require a non-refundable deposit equal to one night stay.
Daily Campsite Fee $35 w/Utilities – Full hook-ups

Weekly Campsite Fee $180 w/Utilities – Full hook-ups, for up to 2 weeks.

Extended stay Campsite Fee $120 per each week (after approval) w/Utilities – Full hook-ups. An additional range use purchase may be required. Length of stay cannot exceed 168 days in a calendar year.
