Biomes of Arizona
In this activity, students will read the tundra, forest and woodland biomes.
By completing this lesson, your students will be able to:
- Obtain and evaluate information from a nonfiction text about biomes.
- Identify adaptations that animals need to survive in different biomes.
- Complete a crossword using new knowledge gained from reading.

Wild Kids is a collection of simple activities that can be used to introduce students to different wildlife and life science concepts. Each activity includes a two page printable student worksheet and a page of teacher instructions. They have been aligned to the Arizona academic science standards and can be used to promote three dimensional teaching.
In this activity, students will read an article about three different biomes found in Arizona. Then, they will complete a crossword puzzle to assess their understanding of the reading. Finally, with the teacher as a guide, they will discuss what could happen to wildlife if their habitat changes suddenly.
