Ben Avery Shooting Facility Hours

Founded in 1957, the Ben Avery Shooting Facility (BASF), formerly the Black Canyon Shooting Range, is one of the largest publicly operated shooting facilities in the country.
Our world-class shooting range is a City of Phoenix Point of Pride. It has received a Five Star rating from the National Association of Shooting Ranges. This means that it is the best of the best at providing a quality recreation experience and is the first government facility to receive this designation.

The hours for Rifle and Pistol Range, Archery Range and Clay Target Center, will be changing on May 1. (New hours listed below) 

BASF hours for all ranges

Rifle and Pistol Range, Clay Target Center and Archery Range

Monday: CLOSED
Tues, Wed: 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Thurs, Fri, Sat: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sun: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday are by reservation, walk-ins accepted if tables are available. Fee is $7 – 12 per shooter per reservation block. Fees depend on the range reserved.
Call for same day availability.

Clay Target Center
Last customer can check in 30 minutes prior to closing.
Roadrunner and Coyote sporting clay courses close at 2 p.m. daily.
Sporting Clays only open during daylight hours, 5-stand/ Trap/ Skeet are lighted and will remain open until closing.
