Ben Avery Shooting Facility Camping

Enhance your shooting experience by staying on-site at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility. The Rifle and Pistol Range campgrounds and the Clay Target Center campground offer convenient access to events, practice sessions and recreational shooting, making it easy to stay close to the action throughout your visit. Campgrounds are available exclusively for competition and recreational shooters, and reservations are required. Amenities vary by site and are designed to provide a comfortable stay, whether you’re visiting for a tournament or a weekend on the range.

RESERVATION INFORMATION

The Rifle and Pistol Range at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility features two campgrounds, Shooter’s Campground East and Central Shooter’s Campground, while the Clay Target Center offers a separate campground with RV parking.

Reservations for the next booking period will open on the following dates:

MONDAY, JULY 13, 2026 — 8 A.M. MST

For campers participating in competitive matches, events or registered shoots

MONDAY, AUG. 3, 2026 — 8 A.M. MST
•
For campers using the Ben Avery Shooting Facility for all other shooting sports activities

RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS

• Reservations must be submitted through the website; phone reservations are not accepted.
• Incomplete applications will be declined.
• Be sure to list all additional occupants on the campground form and provide an emergency contact number.
• The reservation name must match the credit card used for payment; non-matching reservations will be declined.
• Guests are charged for all requested stay dates.
• After submitting your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with your stay details.
• A one-night, nonrefundable deposit is required and must be paid within 48 hours of the confirmation email. Reservations are not finalized until the deposit is received. Failure to pay within 48 hours will result in cancellation. Deposits cannot be refunded or applied to future stays.
• After-hours gate codes and campsite directions will be emailed before arrival. Gate codes will not be issued until the deposit is paid and should not be shared.
• Full payment is due upon arrival, or by the next business day for after-hours arrivals.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

• Check-in: 3 p.m.
• Check-out: 1 p.m.
• Early check-in or late check-out must be approved in advance and may include additional fees. If your competition runs past the 1 p.m. check-out time, you must either purchase an additional night or vacate the campsite before 1 p.m.

Pricing

All confirmed camping reservations require a nonrefundable deposit equal to one night’s stay. The deposit is $35 for utility camp sites and $12 for dry camp sites. Stays may not exceed 168 days within a 365-day period. Extended stay requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance.

Volunteers are an essential part of the Ben Avery Shooting Facility. They play a key role in a variety of activities, from serving as range safety officers and camp hosts to assisting with maintenance, setting up targets, coaching, leading educational and safety programs, helping with events and competitions and more. Rifle and pistol range EAST SHOOTER’S CAMPGROUND

Located across from the main Ben Avery Shooting Facility Rifle and Pistol Range, the campground features 95 sites with showers, laundry and dump station access. Restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and dump stations are only for those staying in the Shooter’s East Campground or the Central Shooter’s Campground.

• Utility Camp Sites (1–53): Include electric and water hookups, plus dump station access.
• Non-utility Dry Camp Sites (54–95): No hookups. Dump and fill services available for an additional fee.

Rifle and pistol range CENTRAL SHOOTER’S CAMPGROUND

Located near the mounted shooting arenas, the Ben Avery Shooting Facility Rifle and Pistol Range features 24 RV spaces with water, electric and sewer hookups, two of which are reserved for Camp Hosts. For mounted shooters, 38 covered horse stalls are available to reserve daily or overnight. Refer to the campground rules for details.

CLAY TARGET CENTER RV CAMPGROUND

Shooters utilizing our trap, skeet, or sporting clay ranges may enjoy the 100 full hook-up RV campsites at the west end of the facility. RVs, fifth-wheels, and campers up to 55 feet in length are welcome. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations are required. Laundry facilities are available as well. Extended stay reservations (more than 14 days) must be requested at least two weeks in advance by email. Range supervisor approval is required. If your anticipated arrival is less than two weeks away, call the office after submitting your request. Reservation requests may take up to three business days to process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use the range to stay here?

Yes. Range fees are required. These campgrounds are for shooters only.

Can I pay in full upfront?

No. Only deposits are due within seven days of your confirmation email. Please visit the facility store upon arrival to pay in full.

Can I shoot after hours?

No. Campers may only shoot during normal business hours.

Is there shade or concrete pads?

No. There is no shade or concrete at campground locations. Sites are designated gravel only.

Is there a dog area?

No. There is no designated dog area. All animals must remain on leashes at all times.
